TNS seeks a Senior Sales Engineer to partner with our Account Executives in a pre-sales technical role, representing TNS Telecom product solutions by setting up, presenting and explaining feature benefits to customers. The Senior Sales Engineer will provide technical assistance to the Account Executives and is responsible for all pre-sales technical efforts with the accounts. As part of the Solutions Architecture & Delivery team, the SSE will guide pre-sales technical customer conversations and create innovative High Level Designs for TNS Telecom Managed Services which aid in closing deals with prospective customers.
The SSE will work with the Account Executives to identify revenue opportunities within target accounts. Coordinate and provide technical support to ensure that the TNS solution is selected, develop and present product/solution to potential customers. Act as lead technical resource on Bids, RFI's and RFP's directing the efforts of the internal teams within TNS, provide network and service architecture design to hand-off to internal engineering teams for install. Coordinate and lead lab trials directing a variety of cross-functional resources. Interface with customers and TNS engineering as issues arise, monitor issues and track feature development in releases and ensure that the technical relationship between TNS and the customers is strong.
The SSE will work closely with Product Managers in the Telecom Services Division and represent market segment expertise, to constantly understand the product roadmap, the competitive threats and opportunities, and how to apply that to the customer and prospect base. The SSE will need to be able to detect competitive trends and provide communications back into the business unit with recommendations and strategies on how to advance TNS solutions.
Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications + minimum of 5 years of related work experience
Excellent written/verbal communication skills and presentation skills
Desire previous Sales Engineering and Sales Support experience with service providers
Must have in depth understanding of voice over IP standards, applications, and carrier interconnect practices related to VoIP peering
Understanding and experience with NFV and SDN highly desired
SIP, IMS, VoLTE, WebRTC, VoIP, and other wireline/wireless Voice Technologies, Virtual Machine concepts, IP routing, H.323 Voice/Video, SS7, CAS, ISDN and Telephony services, Unix, XML
Strong technical understanding of mobile networks (GSM/CDMA/LTE), cable (MSO), and LECs (TDM, IP- SIP/ENUM) networks.
Require previous experience building voice interconnect design/operations solutions with Sonus, Oracle (Acme Packet) SBC, and BroadSoft TAS deployments or similar experience.
Knowledgeable in areas of Network and Routing Services such as Signaling Transport, Trunk Signaling (ISUP), 8XX(TollFree), Number Portability (LNP), ENUM (SIP Peering), and Connectivity.
Project Management experience preferred
Expert level SIP Interconnect, and call flows to support customers migration to VoLTE/IMS interconnect requirements.
Strong working experience with MS Office Suite including Visio
Be able and willing to travel up to 50% of the time for client facing work
