Zoetis has created a new Data and Digital Platform (DDP) team that is driving a step change in the company’s ability to harness data, particularly data generated by the expanding portfolio of Digital Products, to generate disruptive data insights for our customers and colleagues. As the world leader in animal health, Zoetis seeks to integrate Data and Analytics with its diverse portfolio of animal health products to create additional value to customers and enhance overall customer experience.
In your new role within the DDP team, you will have the opportunity to address greenfield opportunities to apply IoT, data analytics, data science and machine learning in the animal health space. Our view of analytics spans from the sensor data collection and analysis on the edge, to the delivery of data insights that help optimize and, in some cases, automate the decision-making process. You will partner with world-class experts in animal health to develop innovative digital and analytics products. The team is leveraging the best-in-class analytics and IoT tools and techniques, and you will have the opportunity to hone you experience with them and help evolve our application of them.
Participate with a team to design, develop and deliver platform data functionality for Zoetis colleagues as well as Zoetis external customers
Support the digital analytics team by automating the transforming and shaping of data from disparate internal and external data sources
Ensure all processes are robust, error-resistant and support automated error generation
Determine how best to shape and store data to address known use-cases of the data, ensure a single source of truth and maintain proper disaster recovery
Collaborate with product owners, subject matter experts to understand end-user needs and pain points so proposed solutions address actual needs. This would include understanding “a day in the life” of the documented personas.
Collaborate with R&D ITS colleagues to understand their needs and requirements for data analytics platform and push requirements from R&D into Analytics platform
Train and enable R&D ITS to use the data analytics platform with guidance
Ensure 75% of your work efforts are directly related to R&D requirements
Continuously improve your skills in the Azure platform and surrounding tools
Periodically review data consumption to ensure resources are allocated appropriately
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Experience with Azure cloud technologies
Extensive Experience with data manipulation tools and languages (DataBricks, Alteryx, Python, R,)
Experience with data management tools (SQL Server, Oracle, etc)
Familiarity of popular visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc)
The ability to communicate with many individuals of different levels of data maturity
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
An ability to determine proper priorities in ambiguous situations
The understanding or desire/ability to understand scientific data and its use
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
5-10+ years of experience with the design and building of information solutions including:
Enterprise level architecture and solutions
Relational, Multi-Dimensional and unstructured data stores
Shaping data for use by Data Analysts, Data Scientists and external customers
