Location: Ravenna, Ohio
The Controls Engineer will administer the electric, electronic and controls systems in the plant. This will include troubleshooting, program design, process improvement, documentation organization and maintenance, service maintenance, training. Responsible for understanding, writing, maintaining TS16949 requirements as assigned.
Duties and responsibilities
Troubleshoot electric / electronic machine problems that Maintenance is unable to resolve with all plant machinery (i.e. cast
Redesign / Improve / Modify PLC programs and circuits
Set robot electronic (service) PM procedures
Design / develop PLC program (this includes existing and new lines as well as proposal for new work)
Responsible for updating / maintaining controls documentation, and hard copies
Help maintain data acquisition system and modify as required
Design / improve / modify robotic program (this includes existing and new as well as proposal for new work)
Responsible for updating / maintaining plant communication network
Responsible for repairing / getting equipment repaired (work with Maintenance Team Leaders in this area)
Redesign / improve / modify user graphic interfaces (i.e. heat treat graphics, panel views, cast machine graphics)
Troubleshooting software / hardware
Install or upgrade software
Assist employees with performing their preventative maintenance (as needed)
Assist the end user with computer support
Perform backups of the network drives
Backup plant PLC/SCL programs/MMI/drawings/robot backup files
Responsible for updating / maintaining controls drawings
Train employees in Robot Programming
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar filed with 2-5 years’ experience.
Knowledge of FANUC Controls, Blueprint Reading, basic measuring technique, and proficient in CAD.
Foundry/machining experience is preferred.
Proficient/Working knowledge in basic computer software.
