Progeny is seeking a mid level electrical engineer to be part of the team responsible for the design, development, production, integration and life cycle support of test systems for embedded system electronics in Torpedo Systems Group (TSG) products used aboard Navy submarines, ships, and aircraft. The TSG designs, develops, demonstrates, produces, assembles, tests and delivers torpedo SONAR arrays and electronic assemblies. The TSG team works with the Navy, internal production staff and the representatives from other companies to advance torpedo performance and lower production costs.
Be part of a team of engineering associates to analyze current requirements documentation to develop methods and descriptions for validating requirements through test and other means. Specifically:
Develop test criteria and design of test systems including test software applications
Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions
Document and present trade studies, analyses, test results, status, etc. to the team
Design, simulate and implement digital and analog circuits
Generate design and interface documentation
Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify hardware
Participate in various technical and program meetings
Assist in the development of new test engineering documentation such as test planning documents, test procedures and test reports
Conduct informal and formal tests as required to validate all planned testable requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
have excellent written and verbal communication skills
have System Engineering experience related to test systems
possess a working knowledge of automated test systems (preferred)
have experience with Labwindows/CVI
B.S (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) required
2-5 years of test experience required
