Apply systems engineering principles, critical thinking, communication, and project management skills to the challenges of Navy ship overhaul, repair, and maintenance on the waterfront. Work on complex engineering projects involving design, tests, contract specifications, ship alteration and repair processes, and modernization of shipboard Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) equipment. Conduct special engineering analyses and studies, root cause analysis, acceptance testing, shipchecks, engineering drawings and sketches, and engineering calculations .
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5 years experience ralated to ship's main propulsion, auxiliary machinery, piping, refrigeration systems, weight handling equipment, structures, electrical systems and/or crew habitability. Knowledge of processes associated with Navy Fleet Technical Asisstance and ship availability planning and execution.
One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one will be required. U.S. Citizenship required.
