This will be more of a validation position than a hands on role. They will be doing documentations, approvals and validations. This is an associate engineer, they will be supporting a lead engineer for the project.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Supporting supplier development activities to validate purchased products per the Aftermarket product line strategy.
§ Supporting the Aftermarket organization in executing fast, high quality product launches.
§ Support the Aftermarket Customer contact team to respond to inquiries.
§ Working within the annual engineering budget.
§ Reducing warranty and minimizing excess and obsolete material.
§ Support product quality initiatives.
§ Research OE part data, order parts online/ from part dealers, collect data pertaining to the OE/ PPAP part (weights, measures, images, etc.) and ship samples to suppliers.
§ Review and research OE & Aftermarket supersessions.
§ Perform Packaging initiatives and work with cross functional teams through PDP gates.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
§ BACHELORS DEGREE IN ENGINEERING.
§ 1 YEAR OF EXPERIENCE WITH STEERING AND SUSPENSION SYSTEMS AND MANUFACTURING PROCESSES.
§ 1 YEAR OF EXPERIENCE IN PRODUCT DESIGN WITH ABILITY TO READ ENGINEERING PRINTS/ SPECIFICATIONS.
§ 3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH MS EXCEL, WORD AND POWERPOINT.
§ Prior experience related to steering & suspension parts.
§ Familiar with Aftermarket Business and product development activities per APQS.
§ Familiar with manufacturing processes such as Forging, Molding, Die casting, Stamping, Machining, Welding and measuring plus GD&T.
§ Prior Design experience with CAD softwares.
