Position Summary

We are looking for a Carpentry Foreman to coordinate operations and oversee workers on the scaffolding crew within the marine barge manufacturing department. As the point of reference of both workers and leads, you will be a key person for the completion of a project.

A Carpentry Foreman has a solid background in the field. Your leadership skills and your extensive experience have earned you the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.

The Foreman is responsible for meeting production, quality, training, safety and documentation guidelines as established by the Plant Manager.


  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
  • Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities
  • Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
  • Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
  • Ensure that employees are creating safe Ringlock work platforms for all craft
  • Ensure that employees are providing shoring and support for barge prior to launching
  • Ensure barge launch system is maintained in good working condition
  • Work with crew in all areas of staging and shoring to maintain safe work condition
  • Communicate expectations to employees as to make certain they understand responsibilities
  • Write performance evaluations and make recommendations for merit increases and promotions
  • Administer disciplinary actions consistently by monitoring safety performance, attendance, quality of work and productivity


  • Proven experience as a manufacturing foreman
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing procedures, equipment and OSHA standards
  • Understanding of ring lock scaffolding system
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
  • Basic computer skills
  • Physically able to climb ladders and active kneeling
  • Must possess the abilities to fluently read, write and verbally communicate
  • Safety oriented, demonstrate ability to use good judgment and exhibit strong leadership skills

Working Conditions/Miscellaneous Requirements
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid and dusty conditions. Employees are required to use personal protective equipment as environmental conditions dictate.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30.00 to $35.50 /hour


  • Supervising: 3 years (Preferred)
  • carpentry: 5 years (Preferred)
