The Software Developer II will assist in new development and maintenance of existing software for interactive retail store systems, mobile applications, responsive websites, web services / APIs, and internal desktop applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Works with others in the Application Development department to develop and maintain projects
Assists in the design, coding, testing, and staging of technical solutions
Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs
Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs
Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot issues and maintain operations in relative assigned areas
Effectively adjusts to multiple, changing priorities to accomplish goals and meet project deadlines
Exhibits interpersonal skills and communication by working cooperatively with other departments within the company to complete tasks in a timely fashion
Manages issues and new feature requests
Provides accurate estimation of task timelines and workload
Works independently and effectively when necessary

C# Desktop Apps (WinForms and WPF, DevExpress)
Database Technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, Management Studio)
Operating Systems (CentOS, Ubuntu, Windows Server, Windows 10, OSX)
DevOps Processes and Procedures (CI/CD, Monitoring, APM, Structured Logging)
Infrastructure (Networking, IaC, Containers, Orchestration)
Test Driven Development
Design Patterns
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or MIS/CIS from four-year college or university and one year related experience; or two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Ability to utilize strong multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills necessary for managing multiple issues at one time in a professional manner and under minimal supervision
Ability to work with minimal direction and exercise judgment when solving problems

Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by management
Must be regularly available and willing to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week or such other hours per day or hours per week as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs
Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs

This position requires occasional travel with overnight stays
Must meet driver’s license requirements as required by the Company
Must be able to legally obtain a rental vehicle in all states in which the company does business
Must have current auto liability insurance
