This position is responsible for engineering tasks including optimization at the site, covering safety, environmental compliance, quality, productivity, cost, and serves as the site MOC coordinator. This involves EHS activities, capital projects, incident investigations, training, and troubleshooting. The Plant Engineer will participate in continuous improvement efforts including Capacity Creation and Effective Efficiency initiatives.

Drive safety culture improvements.
Ensure that safe work practices as specified in the FPD Safety Manual are followed.
Ensure OSHA PSM standards are practiced including Management of Change.
Lead or assist in PHA reviews and completion of action items.
Actively participates on the site safety committee.
Participate and/or lead in EHS incident investigations and provide solutions to prevent recurrence.
Drive and promote ownership of the safety program throughout the site.
Ensure PFDs, P&IDs, and Operating Procedures are up to date and accurate.
Help ensure environmental policies and practices are followed at the site.
Assist in the development and implementation of environmental programs and regulations.
Recommend waste reduction methods to reduce process waste.
Assist in data tracking and trending for permit compliance.
Lead and participate in Green Belt Six Sigma teams to improve quality and productivity.
Uses structured problem solving techniques, analytical tools and teamwork to improve Product quality.
Process control and variation reduction aimed to improve CPK
Work with R&D for scale-up and process improvements to existing recipes
Production / Cost Productivity
Responsible for production optimization.
Lead process optimization activities at the site by leading process design changes to effect optimum safety, environmental compliance, quality, productivity, and cost.
Assist in developing capital budgets.
Execute plans concerning Management of Change and Process Safety Management for the site.
Assist Production in troubleshooting efforts, including data gathering and trending.
Lead or assist in capacity creation efforts.
Develop computer-based tools to improve efficiency at the site.
Assist with identification, development and implementation of capital projects to improve safety, environmental compliance, quality, productivity, and cost while also managing equipment reliability and spares.
Utilities ownership for area – support efficiency improvements in energy usage and wastes
Working knowledge of OSHA (PSM) and EPA regulations.
Expertise with MS Office, SAP, and Process Control Applications.
Minimum 5 years chemical plant or refinery engineering experience.
Must be familiar with safety, environmental and industrial hygiene rules and regulations.
Must have accurate and effective oral and written communication skills.
Must have excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
Must be self-driven with high a level of initiative.
Must possess strong leadership qualities.
Must manage/oversee the status of work.
Must have advanced computer skills.
Ability to lead and influence teams, groups and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to drive associate alignment, engagement, and accountability.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required.
Travel up to 5% to attend meetings / etc.
Physical Demands: Walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing. Ability to enter confined spaces and wear a respirator.
Aptitudes: Intelligence, verbal and numerical.

B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent production experience.
