Our Mechanical Shop is three (3) openings for a Maintenance Engineer. Depending upon the qualifications of the final candidate they will be hired into a Maintenance Engineer I OR a Maintenance Engineer II. Below is the summary and qualifications for each role.
Maintenance Engineer I:
Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of building equipment to include electrical, plumbing, heating/air conditioning units, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Maintenance Engineer II:
Performs senior level maintenance service and repairs in the areas of building equipment to include electrical, plumbing, heating/air conditioning units, and machine servicing. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
While performing the duties of either job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and crawling all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
7am-3:30pm (Monday to Friday); 2 Open Shifts
3pm-11:30pm (Monday to Friday); eligible for shift differential
Maintenance Engineer I Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree in related trade/field preferred;
two (2) years related experience in building maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, heating/air conditioning units and machine servicing.
Maintenance Engineer II Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent;
Associates Degree in related trade/field preferred, plus, two (2) years of hands on experience in the operation and maintenance of boilers, plumbing, electrical and Residential HVAC equipment in commercial building maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair, industrial, or institutional facility;
Four (4) years related experience in commercial building maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair (i.e. plumbing, electrical and Residential HVAC equipment);
3rd Grade Engineers license or related certification/license preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities for level I and II:
Basic computer proficiency/skills;
Ability to self-start, work independently and complete work orders in a timely manner;
Strong customer service focus;
Knowledge and familiarity of safety standards and regulations;
Ability to see details at close range;
Ability to listen and understand spoken information and ideas;
Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects;
Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs;
Ability to work at heights of 20 feet and above;
Ability to work outside in various temperatures (summer/winter) for extended periods of time;
Ability to be “on-call” on a rotational schedule
Seeing: 75 – 100%
