Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. (ECT), seeks a dynamic and driven Senior Engineer/Scientist to join our team and help our business grow. This position will support ECT’s Site Assessment & Remediation service line in our Orlando, Florida office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize and direct assign project programs
  • Independently define scope and critical elements of projects and select approaches to be taken
  • Carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures
  • Perform application of advanced, intensive and diversified knowledge of appropriate professional/technical principles and techniques in broad assignment areas
  • Independently evaluate, select and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria within the discipline
  • Use sound judgement in the independent evaluation and adaptation of standard techniques
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and assignments
  • Develop and manage Florida Department of Environmental Projection (FDEP) Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) assessment and remediation projects
  • Assist with Business development and teaming opportunities across service lines and offices
  • Supervise work of other professionals and technical support personnel
  • Multi-tasking between assignments and established policies/procedures while exhibiting good teaming/problem solving skills
  • Budget management and project costing
  • Staff mentoring and training
  • Demonstrated scientific/engineering project management experience under State of MI FL contract programs
Education and Experience:
  • B.S.in science or engineer related discipline with minimum of 10 years of experience required
  • Professional certifications (i.e., P.E., PG, CHMM, etc.) and accreditation's preferred
  • Scientific minded solid communicator both verbal and/written
Job Essentials:
  • Knowledge of petroleum and Brownfield rules and regulations
  • Able to work outdoors throughout Florida with impacted soils/sediments
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Project management/staff mentoring skills
  • Ambitious/self-motivated, enjoys mix of office/field activities
  • Sound professional judgement and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work 20-30% in the field and perform physically demanding fieldwork
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions (seasonally and in frequency)
  • Ability to complete HAZWOPER training as a prerequisite to employment
  • Occasional travel required
  • Valid driver license with clean driving record required
