Supports the planning, development and implementation of the Pathway to Excellence throughout all manufacturing process from order entry through shipment of the product to the customer by performing the following duties.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Assist in the development and continuous refinement of the Annual lean manufacturing implementation plan based on approved strategic plan throughout all processes.
Facilitate deployment and maintenance of Lean methodologies such as the A3 Process, 5S, Kaizen Events, Kanban, amongst others to remove non-value-added activities to reduce cost, improving delivery and building customer satisfaction.
Execute and facilitate the Value Stream Mapping process for all lean initiatives from Customer Service through shipping of product.
Utilize DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control), Flow, Pull, Standard Work, Error Proofing, Set-Up Reduction, PMP and TPM methods to close business performance gaps.
Assist Operations Management through collection of production data, analyzing outputs, and determining corrective courses of action to promote safety, quality, and efficiency.
Measure and document progress towards meeting objectives related to Lean processes and programs. Support the creation and distribution of timely status reports that update management regarding Lean initiatives and status using key metrics for lean deployment.
Provide required oversight and deploy training as needed in the application of Lean Principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Single Piece Flow, 5S Visual Factory Management, TPM, Kaizen, Communication and Problem-Solving Tools.
Identify cost reduction opportunities and long-term improvement opportunities. Manage all assigned projects such that completion is accomplished on-time, within budget and with agreed to objectives of the project fully met.
Build strong and positive relationships with all areas of the company by working to include them in the improvement activities, making sure their needs and requirements are carefully considered.
Highly developed and technical knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication/interpersonal skills with an ability to influence others.
Advanced computer skills are required (i.e. MS Office, AutoCAD, Visio, etc.)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; (Engineering), minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Lean Manufacturing role.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of Lean including but not limited to Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, A3 Process, One Piece Flow, Kan Ban Systems and 5S.

This job operates in a manufacturing professional office environment. The employee can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration and loud noise level while on the production floor.
