BRIEF OUTLINE OF SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
As part of the Vehicle Evaluation and Verification division, the Simulation Signoff Engineer is responsible for developing state-of-the-art simulation systems, such as Hardware in the Loop (HIL), for automotive validation testing. The position requires a highly motivated engineer who is interested in validating cutting edge automotive technology in a unique fashion.
Creating or updating simulation models
Configuring and updating existing test systems (dSpace and National Instruments (NI) simulators, for example) for electrical systems validation testing.
Develop new test systems for new and emerging automotive technologies across a wide product portfolio.
Develop simulator hardware and software model test systems for automotive validation testing
Program, configure and update dSpace, NI and/or other test equipment for electrical systems testing
Design interfaces between simulator and electronic modules to enable testing
Create software models to simulate hardware in system

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Engineering (prefer computer/mechanical/electrical engineering or computer science) from an accredited university
1+ years of experience with MATLAB & Simulink.
1+ years of experience with programming in dSPACE HIL Tools: ControlDesk, AutomationDesk, ModelDesk, MotionDesk (additional detailed training available) and NI equipment.
Design and modification of HIL or NI test systems
Experience in developing Simulink IO models that run in the real-time HIL or NI hardware
Experience creating custom dynamic Simulink Plant Models.
Experienced in Communication Protocols: CAN, LIN
1+ years of experience with programming with LabVIEW, and NI tools.
Experienced with CANoe, CANalyzer, CAPL and Vector Tools.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, Excellent organizational skills including ability to multi-task
Good collaboration skills, able to work with multiple people and manage a variety of projects simultaneously
1+ years of experience with electronic module testing, electrical systems engineering, test engineering and test design desirable.
Enjoy both "hands on" and analytical environment, working on test hardware in the lab and collaborating with engineering community on test requirements.

Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have flexibility of work days to cover weekend testing requirements.
Other Essential Functions:
Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, and background check.
Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to self or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Dependable personal transportation to work site is required.
