Sr. Extreme Networks Engineer / On-site Engineer:
In this role you will represent Extreme Networks at one of our cherished Customer sites.
The On-Site Engineer will provide full time project support at one of our customer sites. This role requires excellent customer communication skills and a broad range of technical knowledge with strong troubleshooting abilities.
You will be a “trusted advisor” for our customer while providing a high level of quality during implementation of all product areas of the Extreme Network product suites as well as ensuring that all networking implementations meet the customer expectations.
Maintain an excellent relationship between Customer and Extreme Networks.
Provide full time on-site project support
Focused on Extreme Campus Fabric solutions.
Follow Extreme’s PDIO (Plan/Design/Implement/Operate) implementation methodology.
Responsible for creation and maintaining of project documentation during implementation.
Responsible as technical lead and trusted advisor to the customer during implementation.
Responsible as liaison between sales and customer during implementation.
Work with Extreme partners and sales staff to implement the Extreme solution that was sold.
Must maintain excellent knowledge on all Extreme product suites.
Ability to escalate any customer issues to management in a timely manner.
Estimated travel is 15-20%
Expert in Network Engineering for the L2/L3 networking
Knowledge of network security and implementing best practice network security.
Keen ability to understand and analyze customer requirements to be able to position the Extreme solution effectively.
Ability to effectively implement Extreme products and solutions in a mission critical environment within a scheduled downtime or with no downtime
Demonstrate ability to manage complex customer interactions and control customer expectations in order to maintain satisfied customers.
Excellent inter-personal, technical presentation and communications skills.
In-depth knowledge of two or more of the following networking technologies:
Routing Protocols (RIPv1/v2/v3, OSPFv2/v3, VRRP, MPLS, BGP, PIM, etc…)
Layer2 Switching (802.1Q, 802.1 D, 801.x)
Extreme Management Center (XMC)
Extreme Campus Fabric
