Join our Mechanical Engineering Division! Support a variety of design and testing projects. Collaborate in teams with engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel as well as work autonomously on individual tasks. Design tasks include engineering calculations, component & assembly design, component & assembly analysis, component identification, material selection and procurement. Testing tasks include test fixture assembly or oversight, instrumentation setup, data acquisition setup, monitoring test, collecting data, processing & analyzing data. Will also be responsible for developing bill of materials and parts tracking, technical proposal writing, technical report writing, client relations.

Education/Experience:
Requires a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering; Aerospace, Marine, or Offshore Engineering majors will be considered. Must have 1-7 years of mechanical design, analysis, production, manufacturing, research and development, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, testing and evaluation, client relations, and technical writing experience. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Experience in the following environments is preferred: research and development, testing and evaluation, product development, production, and manufacturing. Strong academic performance or work experience in solid mechanics, machine element design, solid modeling, finite element analysis, design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is preferred. Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, or Intralink solid modeling components and assemblies, ANSYS finite element modeling, Labview, MS Office Suite particularly MS Excel is preferred. The ability to design & model mechanical parts or components, design electrical schematics, conduct fundamental engineering calculations, familiar with mechanical and electrical assemblies, familiar with data acquisition methods and techniques, and research components and assemble bill of materials is preferred. Experience with basic hand tools, power tools, fabrication tools such as welding, and machining small components is preferred. Experience with client relations, proposal development, technical report writing, prepare presentations, update cost tracking spread sheets, request quotes from vendors and tracking parts is preferred. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
