Designing smart vehicles for a smart world is the driving force behind Ford's new product development process. We are seeking excellent CAE Engineers to join our team of Dash System Optimization Organization to delivery the best customer experience in area of instrument panel and cross car beam. Using the latest technologies, virtual CAD/CAE tools and processes to design, optimize and verify all requirements upfront is our exciting opportunity to bring smart vehicles fast to market.

The System Optimization team will lead the optimization effort to manage risks, reduce complexity, interface across multiple functional and attribute teams. You will have great opportunity to learn, share and grow within Ford Motor Company.

Responsibilities

Perform CAE Analysis and provide issue resolution within the program dead lines
Develop CAE Models and plans to support program milestones
Support resolution of functional issues within a cross-functional team
Create CAE Engineering status reports and verify completeness and correctness of CAE Assessments
Optimize the function and cost of forward model systems using CAE Tools
Develop or improve current CAE methods and processes and incorporate them into program applications
Lead cross-functional alignment between D&Rs in different functions to comply with the requirements
Provide program design alternatives by running DOE CAE Studies.
Support development of standards and methods
Develop and present reports to management as required
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related degree
5+ years of experience with CAE Analysis
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related degree
3+ years of experience in interior components and assemblies (IP,CCB,HVAC)
5+ years of experience in Ls-Dyna, Nastran
3+ years of experience in Abaqus
5+ years of experience with hands on modeling tools (Hypermesh, ANSA)
Experience with Optimization Methods software ModeFrontier, HEEDs, Optistruct, Concept Modeling (SFE)
System Engineering knowledge and practical experience
Demonstrated expertise in CAE/Test correlation
Demonstrated accomplishment in developing CAE procedures
Programing skills, Python, Matlab or other desired
Strong business acumen and excellent written and verbal abilities
Strong interpersonal skills including relationship building
Experience working in cross functional teams is beneficial
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Fully competent with Microsoft Office Tools
