RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking a dynamic engineer or designer to work at our client’s facility in Edwardsville, KS. This is a full time position through our company which includes full benefits which are listed below. We expect that a successful engagement with our company will lead to a full time direct position with our client.
Our client is a world leading manufacturer of custom precision agricultural planting equipment that is experiencing continued growth in sales and is investing in the future.
We are looking for someone that enjoys and will thrive in a challenging, fast moving work environment with a wide range of other contributors including other engineers, manufacturing and end users. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for specific assignments and projects that can involve the full product range of precision planters including New product Development, Continuous Improvement projects, Warranty Reduction projects, Assembly Support and Marketing Enhancements. Responsibilities include:
Produce and/or evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance, with input from the sales/marketing team and from end-users, to satisfy key markets and strategy.
Furnish necessary information (design concepts, engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analysis data) to document the design solution required for building prototypes and adoption of the design.
Support the test or analysis plan for Product Verification and Validation.
Support engineering specifications which must be fulfilled to supply chain and production rapidly to facilitate the delivery of custom-built planters.
Support the dealers and end users to quickly identify and resolve field issues related to the product line both in-field and on the phone.
Participate in cross departmental reviews of engineering changes.
Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and models/drawings for engineering changes.
Support engineering specifications which must be fulfilled to supply chain for strategic sourcing of new and existing designs.
Support engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for end-user information such as manuals, charts, and product safety materials.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in design, test or manufacturing
Experience with Solidworks or other similar 3D modeling software.
Working knowledge of part print interpretation, geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
Problem solving skills.
Excellent Communication and writing skills.
Experience with solid modeling and analysis tools.
Experience with product development processes.
Strong project management skills
Proficiency with problem identification and resolution.
Desire and persistence to innovate effectively and efficiently.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% (both domestic and internationally).
Technical knowledge of agricultural machines, planter knowledge preferred.
