Hunter Engineering Company is a world leader in automotive service equipment, offering state-of-the-art wheel alignment systems, wheel balancers, lift racks and more. Hunter equipment is approved and used by vehicle manufacturers, automobile and truck dealers, tire dealers and automotive service facilities around the world. We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer for our engineering operations.
Hunter’s Engineers are integral members of the Research and Development design team, where ingenuity and creativity are encouraged and recognized. The Research and Development department drives Hunter Engineering, and is held in highest regard within the company. We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer who will help develop custom Windows 10 IoT & custom Linux distributions for new and existing embedded products. This position will also assist in the selection of computer hardware and components used in Hunter’s wide range of products. The person in this position will interact with engineering team members and manufacturing personnel.
Development and maintenance of custom Microsoft Windows 10 IoT embedded drive images.
Development and maintenance of custom Linux embedded OS.
Research, evaluate and test PC hardware to assist with product maintenance and design.
Create Engineering Change Orders and product release documents.
Support factory PC Line to ensure efficient, trouble free production of PCs.
Design, code and validate software tools for use in the manufacturing of Hunter products.
Perform software and product testing to validate product requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
Windows installation, configuration, deployment and troubleshooting.
Linux/Debian/Ubuntu installation, configuration, deployment and troubleshooting.
Programming with a compiled language (preferably C++), and a scripting language (preferably Bash or PowerShell).
Knowledge of computer hardware components.
Knowledge of PC firmware (BIOS and UEFI).
Good technical writing and oral communication skills.
Working on large software projects in a team-based environment.
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
Source control with Microsoft TFS or Git.
Familiarity with networking and the use of Wireshark.
