Using a disciplined process management approach—this position will team with manufacturing operations in developing and implementing sustainable and standardized pre-cast and post-cast finishing processes that will lead to high product yield.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
Driving standardized process management using the scientific method and six sigma tools.
Ensuring development and implementation of new materials and techniques rooted in six sigma methodology.
Developing a process/manufacturing ASAT with audit plans to facilitate continuous improvement activities.
Acting as a conduit between manufacturing and engineering to ensure that technology needs are communicated, and new technology is rapidly tested and implemented.
Providing specialist advice and leading projects in this area of expertise.
Coordinating and planning projects and resources with new vendors and customers.
Writing capital requests, managing costs and controlling budgets for specific pre-cast projects and objectives.
Ensure processes are performed in compliance with methods, materials and equipment specifications as detailed in Corporate Manuals, ASATs, and customer specifications.
Author and approve new and revised Activity Instructions and Product Criteria for the assigned area of responsibility.
Responsible for determination of root cause of any deviation from critical process specification. Responsible for developing a timely and formal reaction plan which will include an escalating help chain system.
Active member of Production and NPI part meetings with primary responsibility for developing certain process parameters.
Responsible for reporting related process ASAT status on a monthly basis.

Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
Physical Demands: This position requires a significant amount of walking on a daily basis. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. when necessary.
Equipment Used: As a process owner, you will become familiar with numerous pieces of industrial equipment. While the ability to operate the equipment is not required, the process owner should be capable of understanding how the equipment works and how it interacts with the process. A minor amount of equipment diagnostics is part of the work scope.
Work Environment: The process owner should be compliant with all OSHA and plant safety and PPE requirements. These requirements are dependent upon the manufacturing area of responsibility.
Contacts: The process owner may have daily contact with numerous departments, like manufacturing work force, manufacturing supervision, engineering, quality assurance, procurement, etc.
Education: Associates degree. Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Ceramic Engineering, or other applicable Engineering disciplines is preferred.
Work-related experience would be considered based on work content and years performing this work.
Experience: Experience in Investment casting industry or related industry experience is required. Investment casting experience a plus. Leadership experience a plus.
