Currently, we are seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer at our Beech Island, SC Facility. As a member of the Beech Island Engineering Team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support one of the many product systems across the site, including UCTAD, CTEC, Wet Wipes, BCC, or Facilities Support, based on business needs and career development.
Engineers at the Kimberly Clark, Beech Island facility provide leadership and execution in solving daily safety, productivity, cost and quality issues to meet business objectives. In addition, engineers establish continuous improvement plans to address chronic longer-term issues and advance the capability of the assets. Engineers work cross functionally with the Staff Research & Engineering teams to develop and implement new products or assets. The incumbent reports to an Engineering Team leader and receives direction in the form of general project objectives.
Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $1 million from conception through commercialization.
Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and processes to meet unit objectives.
Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.
Identify complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to determine root cause.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Up to 3 years of experience in plant or staff engineering assignments.
A demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team while providing task oriented direction to others in order to complete projects within required timeframes.
A 3.0/4.0 grade point average (GPA) is preferred.
Experience working with external technical service providers.
Evidence of continuing self-development.
Familiarity with machine installations and startups.
Experience with Kimberly-Clark engineering procedures and processes (i.e., co-op or internship experience).
