Subscription Services Platform (SSP) enables the monetization of mobility services offered through various customer channels including FordPass (FP), FordWeb, LincolnWay (LW) and Ford Pro/Digital Market Place Portal. Monetization is a critical pillar in our advancement of emerging mobile technologies and is a crucial enabler to the Mobility Platform crafted to take Ford further.
The SSP team is looking for a highly motivated, technology focused individual with a passion to learn & work on a collaborative software delivery team to build and manage numerous Java API’ deployed to PCF to enable the Ford mobility ecosystem. SSP builds foundational backend services for multiple channels including FP/LW to drive Mobility efforts and deliver on our dedication to providing Smart Vehicles in a Smart World. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work in a vibrant fun filled team and learn the latest technology in Mobility.
What you’ll be able to do:
Develop application software using the cloud foundry architecture that quickly delivers business value according to the problem context defined by the product manager.
Pair with an Engineer and Serve as a Full Stack Software Engineer that enables the design, development, and consumption and support of APIs and services
Work daily in a TDD, paired programming environment.
Work with team members to establish best practices to improve efficiency and minimize risk.
Interact and work closely with Anchor, Product Manager and Architect to devise solutions and break them down into incremental production-ready user stories
Understand customer requirements and critical business challenges, to build solution vision and evangelize how the solution addresses technical and business outcomes
Stay ahead of on the latest technology and contribute to the technical direction of the company while keeping a customer-centric approach
Ensure proactive communication with distributed team to ensure alignment
The minimum requirements we seek:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
5 + years of Java/ J2EE development experience.
3+ years of experience in REST Web Services development using Spring or JEE Framework
1+ years of experience working with Service layers
Our preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Azure, AWS or GCP Cloud experience.
Backlog tools such as Jira, or Rally
Proven understanding of API related technologies such as SOAP, JSON, XML, REST
Having an Architecture experience
Spring Boot framework experience
Experience with Concourse and Rabbit MQ.
Kanban or XP methodology and practices- TDD, Agile, Paired programming
Troubleshooting application and performance issues
Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communications skills - ability to engage in deep technical discussions with customers and peers
Good knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, standards and procedures for high quality software development
Knowledge with SQL
