Mohawk Group is a brand incubator, using the power of artificial intelligence to bring the best consumer products to market on e-commerce platforms. As a member of an extremely creative, talented and motivated team, you will be working very closely with home appliances and consumer electronics products. You'll be driving significant change in the products we sell, as well as helping to improve our artificial intelligence platform that helps us identify market opportunities. You will be a key player in the success of each product that you are involved with.
Who You Are:
A meticulous, detail-oriented, mechanical/electrical engineer or technician, who's deeply familiar with consumer products and how they work. You aren't afraid to get your hands dirty. You're interested in joining a fast-growing US startup with offices in NYC, Shenzhen, and the Philippines. You have a sharp understanding of how things work, and like to figure out why things don't work or how they could be improved.
What You'll be Doing:
Perform root cause analysis on return samples, analyze customer feedback, categorize the testing result and issue FAR (Failure analysis report) if needed.
Offer solutions to engineering, design, and manufacturing issues, as well as suggest ways that the end user could be better educated in the use of our product.
Give technical support to Quality Engineering Team, assist Quality Engineer to issue product improvement plan.
Determine the severity of the issues and communicate to the NYC team. You should be the first person in the company to understand which products require significant or critical improvements.
Organizing NY testing lab. Numbering and recording return samples. Own the task of return sample testing.
User experience testing of new products. Have a good understanding of US end user's behavior and preferences.
Give technical support to Customer Service Team.
Prepare training materials, organize training of product operations, usage, maintenance, etc. to customer service associates.
Flag safety, compliance, and/or recurring issues complained by customers, report to company safety committee's review and necessary actions.
Each decision you make will be used to train Mohawk's artificially-intelligent e-commerce engine!
1-3 years working experience in consumer product industry.
Technical background in engineering, manufacturing or related discipline. An engineering degree or significant hands-on experience (with manufacturing, assembly, design, or repair of consumer products) is required.
Functional familiarity with electronics (power, current, voltage, AC/DC, heat dissipation requirements, PCB, electronic components, etc.)
Familiar with the principles of mechanical design of consumer products (injection molding, material properties, motors, heaters, etc.)
Ability to take things apart and understand how they work
Ability to influence the decision making process and drive change
Hands-on and passionate about consumer products and customer service
Strong desire to find and solve problems
Ability to lift and move 20 kg products.
Fluent in written and spoken English
History of working with US-based teams
Fluent in data systems fundamentals and organizational communication. Experience in databases, especially using Google Sheets, Google Docs (or other collaborative document/spreadsheet creation program)
Basic knowledge of US standards and regulations for home appliance (UL, FCC, DOE..etc)
Basic spoken and written Mandarin
Experience working in a fast-paced startup
