TRC has an immediate opening available in its New Providence, New Jersey office for an Entry-Level Civil/Environmental Engineer to assist in the planning and design of environmental site remediation projects and land development engineering.
Field investigations and construction oversight for both environmental remediation and land development projects.
Perform various project tasks including regulatory requirements/reviews, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, data entry and data evaluation, research, subcontractor procurement support, peer/quality reviews, etc.
Design of remediation system components, piping, friction loss estimates, pumps and pumping systems, grading, stormwater management systems, utility design, etc.
Final work products include preparation of tables, drawings, reports, plans and specifications, and presentations for client and governmental approvals and construction.
Candidate should have a minimum of a B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or Bioenvironmental Engineering.
0-2 years of experience
Eligibility for or possession of EIT certification, willingness to obtain Professional Engineering license when eligible.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is desired.
Please note any experience with Civil3D, HydroCAD, MATLAB, WaterCAD, MathCAD, ARCView GIS, etc.
Fluency with Microsoft Office software (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, etc.) is mandatory.
Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with various hand tools for basic construction, repairs, and troubleshooting related to remediation equipment and instrumentation.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a desire to produce high quality work products and have a willingness to learn new skills.
Must possess solid technical and problem-solving skills.
Must be committed to support the needs of clients and managers in a fast-paced setting.
Must be willing to accept occasional short- and long-term field and office assignments.
Must have a valid driver's license.
40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate (with an up-to-date 8-hr annual refresher course certification) are desirable, but not required. Successful candidate will be required to take 40-hour HAZWOPER training and be entered into the medical monitoring program upon hire.
