The Integrity Engineer carries out a variety of engineering assignments, requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields. Problems usually solved by use of a combination of industry codes and standards, internal standard procedures, and best practice methods developed from previous assignments. Participates in planning to achieve prescribed objectives. Work is not generally supervised in detail and amount of supervision varies depending upon the assignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct activities to meet the technical requirements of projects while maximizing the utilization of resources in a timely manner and at the same time providing the highest quality product
  • Conduct project activities in consultation with Team Leads, Vice President Engineering, and inspectors.
  • Make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions. Difficult, complex, or unusual matters or decisions are usually referred to more senior authority.
  • May give technical guidance to several junior engineers, engineers-in-training (EITs ), technicians, or students who are assigned to work on a common project. Supervision over other engineers would not be a regular or continuing responsibility.
  • Undertake and supervise engineering activities in the field
  • Prepare and/or review engineering reports, status reports, and technical memoranda
  • Prepare budgets and proposals, itemize, and prioritize tasks, and set deliverables
  • Provide technical guidance to peers when required
  • Adherence to RAE safety and loss management policies and procedures
  • Act as a mentor according to APEGA requirements
  • Participate in weekly engineering coordination meetings, technical meetings, and safety meetings
  • Might be required to do research and prepare technical papers for publication
  • Do research and prepare technical papers for publication
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Review company systems, strategies, policies and procedures, and advise suggestions and ideas for improvements and enhancements
  • Troubleshoot and analyze equipment/facility condition to identify performance issues and advise on appropriate actions to ensure equipment/facility integrity

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional designation (P.Eng.) with APEGA.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering role
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and drivers abstract

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles
  • Demonstrated competence in asset integrity management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable federal and provincial codes
  • Commercial awareness to consider financial viability of solutions
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of Solidworks and Finite Element Analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities to develop business and commercial opportunities

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
