- Plastics injection molding
Responsibilities include leading the mechanical design, development, validation, and release activities for vehicle power management systems. You will drive and participate in requirements development/evaluation, FMEA and DVP&R development, and design reviews. You will design new products using CAD tools. You will specify and review finite element and other analyses to ensure the integrity of designs. You will create and maintain engineering documentation, direct the efforts of design personnel, oversee prototype builds, and track all validation activities related to your designs.
5-10 years' experience in design and production release of power electronics
Strong understanding of sizing, packaging, and mounting issues for power electronics
Knowledge of GD&T principles and assembly level dimensional stack-ups
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Experience designing products with 3D CAD tools such as CREO, NX, CATIA
Experience using Teamcenter
Experience with power conversion and power distribution systems
Experience packaging Printed Circuit Boards
Stamped busbar and electrical contact system design experience
Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly practices
Extensive manufacturing knowledge with emphasis on metal and plastic fabrication: injection molding, tool design, sheet metal forming, over-molding, machining, extrusions, etc.
Experience within transportation markets and knowledge of the environmental requirements and related qualification testing required
Experienced in developing engineering quality documentation: FMEA, DVP&R, etc.
Experience with mechanical design analysis using Hypermesh, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, etc.
Demonstrated problem solving skills using Design of Experiments (DOE), 8D, etc.
