This position will play a key role in the growth and expansion of business services and product offerings at Momentum Telecom. This position will support the sale of Momentum hosted VoIP, High Capacity Data and Video to small, mid-size and large businesses, and government, education and medical institutional customers. The individual in this role is primarily responsible for providing coaching and development to Project Managers and Momentum’s Agents. This includes the implementation of complex data network and voice solutions for all customers. Working as part of Retail Implementation, this individual will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and acting as the subject matter expert (SME) in all product/service offerings. Key areas of focus will include: providing guidance and counsel throughout the implementation process, and assuring complete and accurate completion of design documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze customer requirements and needs to understand how Momentum products and services can be applied to meet these needs and solve their problems. Design solutions for the customer that meet their business applications as well as assure protected circuit design, disaster recovery applications, appropriate bandwidth for future growth, etc. Translates complex technical design requirements into information that customer can understand and respond to. Stay abreast of competitive landscape and emerging technologies to best position Momentum in the marketplace. Respond requests for bids and proposals by providing fully documented technical solution (with diagrams) that clearly outline all technical components of solution.
Collaborate with implementation teams to complete all required elements of engineering study for all new sales opportunities and works with outside equipment vendors to ensure most cost effective methods are used in design of all new projects. Assure Momentum and customer installation readiness.
Work Experience & Education
3+ years in technical engineering/support role in the telecommunications industry (Ideally with ISP, CLEC, ILEC, VAR, or MSO), including minimum of 3 years in position working directly with customers
B.S. Degree in related field; computer science or engineering preferred, or related experience
3+ years installing routers and switches
Preferred experience with following:
Router and switch configuration
MAN technologies & designs including- T-1’s, DS-x, OC-x, WDM, and Ethernet
Internet Technologies, Functionality & Services
Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery concepts
Networking Protocols (with an emphasis on Layers 1,2, & 3)
CPE (voice & data)
Voice Network Technologies (including VoIP)
Data Networking Technologies, Functionality & Services (LAN, MAN, WAN, VPN)
Proven decision making and problem solving skills
Adherence to Momentum policies on ethics and integrity
Excellent project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communicator with ability to explain technical concepts in simple and understandable terms to a layperson
Results driven with focus on goal achievement
Ability to create technical designs and diagrams of customer solution
Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word
Must be a team player, able to handle ambiguity, anticipate and react to changes quickly in a fast paced environment.
Must demonstrate ability to utilize Salesforce within 3-6 months of hire.
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in utilizing Momentum Telecom products and services within 6 months of hire.
Must be able to work from home office with little supervision
Must have stable/consistent internet connection – subscription to a reliable, high-speed, hard-wired, bi-directional internet connection
75%+ out of the office meeting with customers; must have a car and valid driving license. Must be willing to travel on a routine basis via various modes of transportation (car, airplane, etc.). Employee must be available to work nights and weekends as required.
