Provide CAD support for the design of complex mechanical components and structures used in marine industry using DFM Pro. Create high-level parametric CAD models of complex castings used in marine engines using PTC Creo (formerly known as Pro/Engineer). Perform mechanical component design and development of CAD modeling with PTC Creo, focusing on cylinder blocks and crankcases. Develop component and assembly drawings utilizing applicable specifications and proper Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Create supporting CAD files to determine form, fit, and function, and perform solid modeling of parts. Prepare drawings, and work with assemblies, layouts, overlays, and motion envelopes. Perform dynamic force balancing and clearance analysis of rotating components (crank train and valve train) used in marine engines by using PTC Creo Mechanism Dynamics Extension (Pro/MDX). Communicate with cross-functional design departments to resolve packaging and component interfaces. Work with manufacturing and suppliers to optimize design features for manufacturability and ease of assembly.

Associate’s degree in mechanical design, mechanical engineering, or related field and five (5) years of design of marine engine components. In lieu of associate’s degree and 5 years of experience, seven (7) years of experience in design of marine engine components will be accepted.

Must have work experience in each of the following: 1) providing CAD support for the design of complex mechanical components and structures used in marine industry using DFM Pro; 2) creating high-level parametric CAD models of complex castings used in marine engines using Pro/Engineer; and 3) performing dynamic force balancing and clearance analysis of rotating components (crank train and valve train) used in marine engines by using Pro/Engineer Mechanism Dynamics Extension (Pro/MDX).
