Role and Responsibilities
The Courseware Development Lead's primary role within CAE Engineering is to manage courseware production workflow for major training programs and projects. This will include : oversight of the integrated development teams used in the production of courseware, planning and execution of work packages, budget management, risk and issue mitigation and resolution or escalation, and oversight and management of the development process. The secondary role will be to supervise a team of professionals to deliver fully integrated and tested courseware components for assigned projects and programs.
In collaboration with the organization's technical leads, the group led by the Courseware Development Lead will be tasked with determining the technical solution to meet the client's needs, establishing the work plan and carrying out development and integration activities on budget and on schedule while producing the expected quality.
Full accountability for development and delivery of applicable courseware and training solutions within budget and schedule.
Manage a multi-disciplinary team (ISDs, Courseware developers, Media, etc).
Resource management (staffing requirement to meet commitments as well as performance review, development plan, etc.).
Manages data issues, vendor interactions & coordination with partners in workshares.
Training solution and courseware strategic vision and roadmap.
Accountable for costing estimates of solution.
Hosting Lessons learned sessions and addressing previous lessons learned.
10 or more years' relevant experience in the education/courseware field.
Minimum of 3 years in project/product management.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to lead several employees and carry out several tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and great team spirit.
Knowledge of development lifecycle processes.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of Agile development practices.
Experience with JIRA
Experience with Planisware
Knowledge and experience in software integration and/or software testing.
Experience in proposal writing
Knowledge of courseware project lifecycle.
