Peraton is seeking an experienced test engineer able to implement test and evaluation strategies to assure delivered software and hardware solutions comply with specifications and contractual requirements.
Review, evaluate, and derive requirements for testability.
Ensure items under test comply with requirements and standards through informal and formal verification methods.
Participate in reviews of systems and elements to ensure traceability of requirements through verification and validation.
Develop and prepare for the execution of comprehensive test & evaluation plans and procedures in accordance with performance and operability requirements.
Coordinate test, evaluation and transition activities with stakeholders.
Conduct test readiness reviews.
Compile data and define changes required in configurations, procedures, and processes.
Produce reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
Perform analysis of test results and prepare comprehensive test reports and risk assessments.
Evaluate discrepancy reports and perform regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes
Monitor for continual process improvement and lessons learned.
What you’ll do…
Plan and conduct hardware and software testing, factory acceptance testing, and end-to-end system testing to demonstrate functionality and requirements compliance. Work as an integral member of design and sustainment teams in establishing and verifying mission requirements. Prepare test plans, requirement traceability matrices, test procedures, and test reports per contract requirements. Lead test events and interface with the customer, users, and associate contractors in the performance of test activities. Prepare test inputs and participate in design reviews, technical interchange meeting, and test plan working group meetings. Perform as a hands-on member of installation and test teams at customer locations.
You’d be a great fit if you have…
BSEE (or equivalent), in engineering or related field and 5+ years' relevant experience.
Candidate should have a good understanding of hardware and software as applied to data processing systems, scheduling systems, communications systems, and satellite command and control systems.
Must have good communications skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
It’d be even better if you have…
Experience with software languages including Java, C++, Fortran, HTML, web services (Apache Tomcat), constraint-based programming, SQL Server, and/or Postgres.
Experience with Git, the Atlassian tool suite, RaQuest, Enterprise Architect, NetBeans, Eclipse, and/or Visual Studio.
Experience with using and configuring Windows and/or OpenVMS platforms.
Knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) and software Quality Assurance (QA) disciplines
