Description

SAIC is seeking a motivated entry-level aerospace engineer to join the National Security Customer Group (NSCG) to help define the next generation of space systems and solve some of the hardest intelligence problems facing the nation. The NSCG provides specialized engineering, analysis, and operations support to the Intelligence Community (IC) customers.

Roles and Responsibilities include:
  • - Conduct engineering analysis of complex, technical problems relating to orbital mechanics
  • - Participate in future concept and resiliency studies for space constellations as part of a multi-disciplinary group of subject matter experts
  • - Use STK, FreeFlyer, or other modeling and simulation tools to solve orbital mechanics problems, adapting or developing simulation and analysis software as needed to solve complex problems
  • - Develop and update models of future space systems
  • - Explore new mission areas and develop approaches to solve them

Qualifications

B.S. Aero or Astro Engineering (or anticipated degree in Spring 2020)
Classes in orbital mechanics, dynamics, and space mission design
Experience using MATLAB, Python, Java, or other programming/scripting languages to solve engineering problems
Willingness and ability to develop simulation/analysis software as needed to perform design/trade analyses
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (Note: Federal law requires US citizenship to obtain a clearance)

Desired Qualifications

M.S. Aero or Astro Engineering (or anticipated degree in Spring 2020)
Classes in spacecraft engineering
Experience with orbit modeling software, such as STK or FreeFlyer
Proficient using Python and/or Java to solve engineering problems
