Danfoss is seeking a Test Engineer at out site in Loves Park, IL. The primary functions of the role include design, build and maintenance of production test equipment for testing Variable Frequency Drives. Test equipment is a critical part of the production process that ensures products are assembled correctly; delivering a high level of quality for the customer.
Critical Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Independently update/modify and maintain software and hardware in test systems.
Ensure product and process quality using quality tools and metrics.
Support new product introduction into daily production.
Design and Commission new test equipment.
Support R&D projects and be a part of a cross-functional team.
Understand and interact with the Danfoss production IT systems.
In-depth understanding of Danfoss products and their functionality.
Understand current test methods and implement new systems.
Establish a global network with counterparts across the organization
Identify and develop procedures and standards
Background and Skills:
In order to be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria.
Bachelor's degree (BSEE) in Electrical Engineering
Experience in some or all the following categories:
Design and development of production test/ validation equipment
Variable frequency AC drives, Regeneration and AC motors
Automation Systems (PLCs etc.) and Control Panels
Test software: National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand.
Electrical CAD drawings
New product introduction
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret schematics, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures, and manuals.
Ability to effectively present information
Statistical Process Control
Troubleshooting of products and equipment
