Centauri is a software and systems engineering company headquartered in Chantilly, VA with offices Nationwide. We are seeking a candidate to join our Communications Analysis team to support model development and engineering analysis of Intelligence Community systems.
The ideal candidate must have experience performing engineering analysis and software scripting in support of network system acquisition, design, or traffic modeling operations.
Create/enhance a model at the network/transport layer that will predict average and peak traffic given current and future network design options
Optimize network performance by analyzing, predicting and regulating the behavior of data transmitted over the network
Estimate data throughput given new data sources and destinations
Identify risks for dropped or delayed traffic
Implement data tagging capabilities to predict packet loss/delay by data type
Create/enhance model visualization capabilities to easily communicate network behavior and performance statistics to senior decision makers
Create/enhance a database to capture current and future network design options
Ability to understand communication protocols, e.g. TCP/IP
Ability to write engineering software scripts in a variety of languages for both problem solving and visualization
Ability to conduct computer network analysis and simulate network performance
Experience with network operations, to include an ability to verify sufficient accuracy of a predictive model
Ability to upgrade and enhance existing engineering software scripts for new systems and concepts
Ability to design engineering experiments for the purpose of understanding system design impacts or identifying optimal parameter settings
Ability to establish a plan for a project and to accomplish goals embodied by the plan.
At a minimum, a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related fields
5+ years (10+ years preferred) of experience conducting engineering analysis, modeling, and simulation
Experience with a variety of scripting languages for simulation model development and engineering analysis, e.g. JAVA, Matlab, Python, R, Perl, or related languages
Experience working in the Government industry (Experience with the Intelligence Community preferred)
Some statistics background is desired
Must have an active government TS/SCI security clearance. TS with SCI eligibility will be considered.
