GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Nuclear Safety Basis / Authorization Basis Engineer to impact and contribute to the success of federal projects near North Las Vegas, NV.
Support the preparation and/or review of safety basis documents for nuclear facilities/activities and provide direct support to nuclear facilities as directed.
Expertise in DOE/NNSA safety basis development and review in accordance with DOE-STD-3009-2014 and DOE-STD-1189-2016 required.
Demonstrated capability to generate safety basis supporting documentation/calculations using DOE Tool Box codes (e.g., MELCOR, HotSpot, and MACCS).
Duties may also include Facility engineering support services related to technical oversight, generation, revision and review of facility safety documents such as documented safety analyses, calculations, process studies, hazard analyses, criticality safety evaluations, and special studies/analyses, etc.
B.S. in technical field and minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
Must have demonstrated knowledge of Department of Energy (DOE) orders as well as state and local codes.
Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
