Qualified candidates will be expected to help the R&D team test and characterize the performance of complex, programmable integrated circuit (IC) solutions. In this role they are expected to develop manufacturing test and product validation plans to support the release of new FPGA (Field Programmale Gate Array) devices. Execution to these plans will require the Product Engineer to develop sophisticated hardware and automation software for operation on bench or ATE (Automated Test Equipment) systems. FPGAs are programmable devices and the Product Engineer is expected to use Lattice's proprietary design SW to instantiate IP-under-test and create/design a meaningful test solution for the ATE or bench.
The Product Engineer will work closely with our Design, SW, Operations, Reliability and Applications engineering teams. They are expected to bring-up and debug first silicon and then validate performance for compliance to datasheet or design expectation. Strong problem solving, data analysis and communication skills are a significant requirement of the job. The FPGA Product Engineering role is exciting and challenging, it provides multiple opportunities for talented engineers to develop proficiency in such diverse areas as PCB design, Verilog/RTL design, open-source coding in Python or R, ATE testing, high speed signal integrity, and advanced bench instrumentation.
The Product Engineer will have intermediate knowledge in SW code development (C, Perl, Python, R) and RTL/Verilog code development, as well as some knowledge of digital and analog circuits and systems.
Strong academic performance, GPA of 3.5 or higher.
2 - 3 years: SW development in Windows- and Linux-based operating systems.
1 - 2 years: Operation of bench instrumentation and measurement equipment.
1 - 2 years: Design development with FPGA products and SW.
Masters of Science or better in Electrical Engineering or related field
Bachelors Science or better in Electrical Engineering or related field
