The Process Engineer is responsible for providing the technical expertise linking design requirements with production realities. Responsible for conducting studies and implementing the best sequence of the operations and work flow. Suggests methods to ensure the maximum utilization of facilities, equipment and human resource to deliver a process capable of producing 100% on time and defect free. Provides technical expertise and guidance to support and continuously improve operational performance.
Managing product flow and layout for area
Determining & managing operational costs for area
Key team member for new product introduction activities
Experience with wood manufacturing processes desired.
Works with Operations team to continuously improve operational performance.
Understanding of lean manufacturing sources
Experience in conducting time studies and labor costing.
Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts and able to translate and lead team in continuous improvement activities.
Develops content for standard work instructions
Performs cost feasibility studies for proposed changes to process or equipment needs.
BSME or BSIE or similar degree required.
1-2 yrs manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
Prior manufacturing upholstery experience a plus.
