Catalytic Combustion is seeking a Field Service Engineer/Manager to lead our team of Field Service Technicians in the commissioning and servicing of air pollution and emission control industrial equipment including thermal and catalytic oxidizers, heat exchangers, SCR applications for marine and locomotive applications and other ancillary equipment. Must be willing to relocate to Bloomer, Wisconsin.
This position includes diagnosing technical problems and determining proper solutions, follow up to on-site installations including repairs and maintenance tasks.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is mechanically and electrically inclined and doesn’t mind traveling or working independently. Knowledge of gas fired burners, PLC based controls, HMI’s and mechanical and electrical instrumentation is also preferred.
Ability to resolve problems, think analytically and communicate professionally in a high pressure, time sensitive customer environment.
Utilize mechanical, electrical and construction skills along with equipment knowledge to coordinate team to install, assemble, repair or troubleshoot specified equipment.
Leads, manages and mentors the Field Service Technicians. Includes leading by example and championing a culture of safety both at company and customer worksites.
Develops and directs procedures and methods to enable field service management, warranty tracking, root cause analysis and configuration management.
Develop and maintain ongoing equipment maintenance contracts.
Develop service project and maintenance contract cost estimates.
Oversee shop checkout and testing of equipment and materials prior to shipment.
Provide technical support to customers verbally and in writing.
Electrical or Mechanical Engineer preferred however an Associate’s degree in Mechanical and/or Electronics and equivalent work experience is accepted. Project management or other experience in other technical leadership positions is needed.
Ability to travel up to 50%.
Strong mechanical, electrical and control systems knowledge.
Position may require the ability to be “on call” after normal working hours.
Knowledge of how to read blueprints and drawings in Solidworks is a plus.
Working knowledge of business-related software like MS Word, Excel and exposure to ERP systems.
Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport.
Pass a respirator medical exam and fit test.
Deal effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people and situations. This includes working to maintain a good professional relationship with a customer who may be upset.
