The Seabee Gold Operation is an underground gold mining and milling operation, located near Laonil Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, approximately 125 kilometers northeast of the town of La Ronge. The Santoy underground mine has been in continuous commercial production since 2014. Commercial production at the Seabee underground mine commenced in 1991 and exhausted Mineral Resources in 2018. All ore is processed at the Seabee mill facility, which has been in operation since 1991.
This position is a fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert & La Ronge. The work schedule will be 14 days on site, 14 days off site.
The Mine Technician has a diverse skill set that allows them to support various mine-engineering positions (planning and scheduling, ventilation, ground control and services). They are responsible for creating, designing and developing best practices regarding mining engineering processes, procedures and practices to support the success of departmental targets.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties
Providing assistance to the mine planning team in short term planning duties with a focus on Longhole design.
Conducting field level ventilation surveys and issuing ventilation reports under the guidance of the Mine Engineer.
Conducting field level geotechnical QA/QC testing and instrumentation installation and monitoring under the guidance of the Mine Engineer.
Assist surveyor and fill-in as required.
Maintaining and updating production & development database, mine development drawings, mine level plans and long-sections.
Interaction with entire Technical Services team to ensure team focus.
Adhering to programs, systems, and procedures in mine design.
Updating current technical services policies, procedures and systems as required.
Create a strong safety culture through engagement and empowering others.
Engagement in all engineering functions and ensuring that service and operating guidelines are executed with excellence.
Alignment with the Company’s SHEMS system as it applies to the Technical Services Department.

The successful candidate will have a certificate or Diploma of Technology in Mine Engineering or a related field, a minimum two (2) years overall underground mining experience and a minimum five (5) years proven experience in heavy equipment operation.
You will also demonstrate:
Experience with Deswik, Surpac, AutoCad, Mine Mark up and MineCAD would be considered an asset but not required; must be proficient in MS Office Suite
Excellent interpersonal/relationship skills - ability to work and communicate with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization, written and oral.
