In this role, you have the opportunity to
support our Colorado Springs site on all objectives related to our production team’s safety. You will be driving safety programs to promote the highest quality EHS standards in the workplace.
You are responsible for
Administering safety programs
Benchmarking, comprehending, and utilizing best-in-class/world-class measures and systems, achieving improvements leading to world-class performance of an OSHA recordable rate of 0.6
Owning & implementing the hazard assessment process
Developing teammate engagement processes and driving advancement of the safety culture
Investigating all injuries and near misses; identifying root causes, developing, and implementing corrective actions
Tracking all OSHA recordable injuries
Auditing equipment and areas, identifying and resolving safety risks
Performing ergonomic assessments; developing repetitive motion, cut and other injury-related action plans and managing resolutions
Supporting compliance to our environmental permits
Supporting our chemical usage program and managing safety data sheets
Identifying & implement industrial hygiene, area, and teammate monitoring programs
Supporting hazardous waste management
Keeping customers, peers, and managers apprised of project needs, status, issues, plans, etc.
Developing and administering safety training
Supporting code compliance
Communicating effectively with peers, managers, and other departments on the status of equipment rep.
You are a part of
Our EHS team that is key to ensuring that our internal processes adhere to our high corporate standards.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
BS in Occupational Health & Safety OR Environmental Health and Safety preferred
3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing safety role working with ISO 45000 and ISO 14000 preferred
Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and NFPA standards
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues, assess root cause and develop corrective actions
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Must possess strong presentation and computer skills
Lift and carry items weighing over 30 pounds
Submit to the required health checks-ups on an annual basis or as required
