The Columbia Group (TCG), a design engineering and technical services company that has a successful 50+-year history of providing the United States Military with engineering, design, acquisition, logistics management, fabrication, test and evaluation, information technology and financial management support services, is seeking a Marine HVAC Engineer with experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system design and analysis on vessel systems.
The Marine HVAC Engineer will work primarily on design and modifications to U.S. Government vessels. Principal responsibilities include providing technical leadership to HVAC design and specification development.
Analysis of HVAC and other vessel systems as required.
Develop designs and drawings for vessel HVAC systems, and potentially other systems as may be required.
Develop specification for HVAC system components, and other systems as required.
Recommend design improvements to improve system performance, reduce cost, and/or reduce technical risk
Work with subcontractors and vendors to ensure subsystem designs efficiently meet system requirements
Develop engineering presentations and reports
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Naval Architecture. Engineering degrees in other disciplines will be considered with appropriate marine experience.
At least 5 years of experience in marine engineering. At least 3 of these years must be in ships HVAC analysis and design / modification.
Demonstrated written communication skills in the English language
U.S. Citizenship required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
