Your Contribution to Our Mission:
QinetiQ has a challenging, demanding, and dynamic opportunity for an Electronic Engineering Manager to lead the Electronic Engineering team in Lorton, VA. This position reports to the Director of Hardware Engineering and is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of the Electronic Engineering team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for applying innovative approaches to designing, integrating, testing, and producing complex electronic engineering systems to include coordination with other HW and SW disciplines and departments.
Provide leadership, guidance, coordination, and review of work products produced by a team of Electronic Engineers to include all stages and aspects of System Electronic design, testing, operation, schedules, and documentation.
Coordinate and review all phases of assigned Electronic engineering project(s) from inception through completion; works with staff to develop innovative designs or modifications to meet project goals.
Ensure the implementation of proper engineering discipline for all analysis and design, and following the appropriate engineering processes.
Manage all personnel issues; ensure maintaining technical excellence by directing the hiring, retention, and development of staff.
Contribute to the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contracts.
Participate in the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
To Land This Job, You Need:
BS (MS preferred) degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
Ten or more years of progressively complex Electronic engineering experience.
Proficient with Altium PCB designer and its related products. Experience with ConcordPro.
A minimum of five years of engineering staff management responsibilities supporting five or more engineers.
Demonstrated management experience building and developing teams, including hiring, retention, training and mentoring, and administrative management in support of a diverse set of technology.
Demonstrates a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice and project and program leadership, including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established project deadlines or milestones.
Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles.
Demonstrated ability to manage and contribute to developing new concepts and principles; resolve unusually complex technical problems; serve as spokesperson on projects is highly desired.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, current and potential customers, and government representatives.
Customer-focused, flexible, and able to formulate plans based on the development of innovative new Electronic and electronic designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems.
Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
