BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ENGINEER
The Business Intelligence Engineer is a key member of the Information Technology team building business intelligence, data warehousing, and analytics capabilities across Kreg Tool. The role utilizes a broad skill base in business intelligence, software development, data warehousing, analytics, and data visualization. The Business Intelligence Engineer will work on multiple projects simultaneously. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, we want you to join our team!
What You’ll Be Doing:
Responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, operations, and ongoing management of multiple BI tools and related systems within the enterprise data warehouse.
Effectively maintain and manage the data warehouse reporting environments (Development and Production) including: installation, configuration, patching (software and security), maintenance, user management, and report management.
Collaborate with business customers to gather and document business requirements for reporting, business intelligence, programming and analytical needs.
Provide leadership in data architecture, modeling, schema design, ETL and universe design
Create, maintain, and support complex reports, dashboards with multipart formulas, stored procedures, custom tables and customized functions.
Define and create ETL mapping and process flows, as well as provide daily production support to report processes and end-user community.
Mentor other team members on data integration, design, and report/dashboard development.
Respond to user ad-hoc requests for data, advising and assisting with options for providing relevant information.
Assist to create mockups and prototypes that conform to the best practice information architecture and user interface design.
Write and maintain technical specifications.
Document and research production issues and coordinate timely resolution.
Assist with special software development and integration projects as needed.
Provides support services for management staff.
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems/Science required or similar combination of education and experience.
5+ years of data warehousing and analytics experience required, preferably using Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SAP Business Objects Enterprise, Webi, Lumira, PowerBI.
5+ years of experience with dimensional data modeling & schema design in Data Warehouses
5+ years of data integration experience with ETL and APIs.
3+ years experience with multiple programming languages (Python, Java, R)
Experience with a variety of web service technologies (REST, SOAP, XML, JSON)
Thorough understanding of SQL development, stored procedures, functions, and ETL (SSIS, SAP Data Services).
Experience and understanding of database administration and standardized Data Warehousing Concepts.
Experience with SAP Business Objects Enterprise administration.
Experience with XML, Business Intelligence Tools, Dashboards, analytical manipulation and interpretation of large databases.
