Purpose of the Position:
This position will encompass performing engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction activities. This position will be supporting our Major Projects Group and be based in Washougal, Washington.

Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures or accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources
Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget
Reviews and prepares status reports for management, client, and others
Plan and design temporary structures, following construction and government standards, using design software and drawing tools
Coordinates project(s) activities with Ballard personnel, subcontractors, and joint venture partners
Responsible for assisting with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the project, including safety, performance, budget, scheduling, equipment management, and quality
Develop and maintain resource-loaded project schedules.
This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
Work with and be part of the estimating departments during project procurement phases
Prepares and maintains project documentation and record keeping as required
Ability to act as a Quality Control / Quality Assurance representative as required
Ability to organize and manage subcontractors
Ability to relocate as needed
Have excellent problem-solving, decision-making and listening skills
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills; excellent verbal communication skills and ability to foster relationships with employees at all levels within the organization; ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives, and strong creative problem-solving skills are required
Bachelor’s Degree Construction Management, Construction Engineering Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related field
1 -3+ years’ experience in heavy civil construction
Proficient with a wide range of software (or willing and able to learn) including CAD, Blue Beam, HeavyBid, HeavyJob, MS Project or P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Tunnel rehabilitation experience is a plus
