Interstates is growing, and we are currently seeking a Technology Developer and/or Analyst to join our Research and Development Team in our Sioux Center office.

The Technology Analyst is responsible for research, evaluation, and documenting the research into new and emerging technologies as well as developing proof of concept solutions around some of these technologies. This role will focus on some application development, but this person must be flexible in what hardware and software platforms they will be asked to use. They will be responsible to share results of research with team members within Interstates as well as customers and third-party partners. This position would also be involved in rolling out new technologies to the delivery teams and supporting those teams on initial deployments.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Chief Technologist and other technical leaders to identify new technologies for evaluation
Present concepts and findings to a variety of audiences
Document all steps in the research and development process
Develop applications for multiple platforms, included, but not limited to Microsoft Windows, linux, Android, and IoS devices
Test and evaluate a variety of new technologies. These would include both hardware and software products.

Application container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
Encryption
Data Analytics
Augmented Reality
Ethernet network technologies
Cloud based services and platforms (Azure, AWS, etc)
Low energy networks, e.g. BLE
Biometrics / security
Micro compute platforms
Traditional Industrial automation platforms
Other technology as identified
Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or Technical degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent program
4+ years’ experience C#, C++, C, Python
2+ years’ experience in Mobile programming (iOS and android)
Basic knowledge of Ethernet networks
Applicable Math / Data Analytics experience
