The F-35 Sustainment and Logistics Engineer will primarily coordinate planning, organization, control, integration and the completion of projects by providing Supply Chain Management (SCM) technical assistance in developing and executing all Site Standup, Packing, Handling, Shipping and Transportation (PHS&T) guidance and input to support the overall development and integration across the program for future site standup activities.
This position will typically have a few customers/countries assigned and will work with JPO counterparts on site standup activities. Incumbent will also support shipments for Deployment Spares Package (DSP), Afloat Spares Package (ASP), Base Spares Package (BSP) and Pack up Kits (PuK) to provide mission essential spare parts for a deployed F-35 as well as land based ops. This includes repairable complex assemblies all the way down to consumables for routine maintenance of F-35 Sustainment Operations worldwide. Will be a part of the Site Activation team and will coordinate across departments for inclusion with the Items Analyst Team for deployment planning and supply chain activities. The successful candidate will interact with internal and external customers on a technical level in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment. The successful candidate will have experience in supply chain and logistics management, warehouse management and design. Must have strong project management and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a fast paced and fluid environment. Candidate must also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and have a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. The responsibilities of the position include:This position when not traveling may have to serve as a supply chain FSR as a backfill at CONUS and OCONUS sites and assist with future site standup activities where required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1.) Assist with off ship requirements with statusing, researching, reporting, turn in or retrograde and Performance Based Logistics (PBL) compliance.
2.) Mediate Scarce Resource and Afloat Spare Package (ASP) extraction requests.
3.) Notify the Items Analyst/ Supply Customer Operations team about major or recurring problems. Assist Items Analyst with local information on warehoused parts, i.e. verify serial numbers and on-hand quantities (target stocking levels) including support equipment
4.) Assist Items Analyst in expediting Mission Critical shipments.
5.) Perform additional duties as assigned by site standup leadership to support the program.
6.) Must be willing to travel, both domestically and internationally.
7.) Must have a valid US passport.
Must have the ability to handle multiple assignments, changing work schedules, and meet tight deadlines.
The successful candidate will interact with internal and external customers on a technical level in an IPT environment. The candidate reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. The successful candidate will have experience in supply chain and logistics management, warehouse management and sustainment operations.
- Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and requires a Secret clearance to be considered.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- Technical project management experience with multiple deadlines and customer requirements.
- Experience with Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation (PHS&T)
- Experience briefing customers across all services
- Advanced Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) experience.
- Experience communicating with internal and external program management.
- Experience with Aviation Supply and Sustainment operations to include practices within the warehouse
Knowledge of the following management systems:
Automated Logistics Information System (ALIS).
- Prior site standup planning and execution experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the aviation logistical support and maintenance concept.
- Knowledge of aviation logistics, applicable transportation requirements, deployments
- Be well versed in F35 supply processes, procedures and protocols for replenishments, critical stock and aircraft readiness requirements.
