WSP is currently seeking a Junior Project Engineer (Geotechnical, or Geo-Environmental) to join our Geo/Structural Instrumentation & Monitoring team, located at our Aurora office. Reporting to the Team Lead of Instrumentation & Monitoring, this position will be responsible for supporting project managers on a variety of projects

A day in the life:
You'll review and analyze the results from on-site geotechnical or structural monitoring data, i.e. shoring monitoring, soil and ground movement, embankment monitoring, groundwater monitoring, strain/load monitoring and etc.;
You will supervise drilling and instrument installation;
You will draft the instrumentation and monitoring project work plan and specification;
You will participate the cooperation with other teams and use proper geotechnical/structural instrument application to assist with moving projects forward;
You can expect to assist with proposals and quotations;
You'll assist with project execution in compliance with WSP’s best practices;
You will be responsible for project site coordination, client management, response to urgent requests and mobilize subcontractors;
You'll provide initial review for reports and memos;
You will support instrument engineer for coding or programming of the WSP-DMS;
You'll remain highly active on project delivery while assisting with coordination of a subset of the team;

P.Eng or candidate to P.Eng.
Minimum 3 years experience with conducting both site work and office work in Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring;
Valid G level Ontario driver's license, and willingness to travel within Ontario
