The Director, Advanced Development Group (ADG) leads a small, nimble team of engineers and senior technicians that research, design, test, and develop concepts using rapid, unconstrained set-based design methodologies resulting in product and service ideas ready for formal engineering disposition. This capability represents the front end of the Cirrus Product Development System (CPDS).
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Employee performance management, including annual performance reviews, employee rewards and recognition programs
Builds a positive team spirit and provides a path for advancement for team members
Resource management, scheduling, onboarding and recurrent training
Oversees and ensures overall quality and safety of the product and personnel
Ownership of key area performance indicators and adjusts performance as required
Meet regularly with the ADG group to pass information up and down
Annual budgeting for headcount and capital equipment
Provides metrics, team status and visibility to projects
Communicate directly with senior management on current and future projects
Performs other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
10 years’ experience in aerospace
7 years’ experience in leadership and management
Leadership experience required; formal training strongly preferred.
Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to effectively manage stress, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time.
Knowledge of software including iBASEt Solumina, and Atlassian Jira and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Power Bi.
Master’s degree preferred

Understands manufacturing methods, materials, processes, safety requirements, and product costing
