Solar Engineer

RRC is seeking a talented Solar Project Engineer to help us build the future of U.S. energy production from either our Tualatin, OR or Round Rock, TX office or in the Denver, CO area. The chosen candidate will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage technical activities for project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects
  • Monitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications
  • Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements while representing them in the field
  • Perform overall project QC (budgets, schedules, plans, personnel performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project teams
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants while providing technical support
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
  • Facilitate and support company solar PV and battery storage efforts
  • Assist in the creation of project metrics and feedback loops of lessons learned and historic costs
  • Provide timely responses to field construction needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited University
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Experience with civil and electrical engineering
  • Working knowledge of structural engineering as it pertains to solar projects
  • Working knowledge of high voltage electrical design and SCADA systems
  • Experience as a project engineer or design engineer on solar projects
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy industry relating to utility-scale wind and solar projects
  • Ability to work on multi-discipline projects
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines
  • Ability to efficiently communicate and report at all internal and external levels
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook with advanced MS Office skills
  • Familiarity with industry rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
  • Project management, leadership, and supervision skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A deep passion for renewable energy and energy storage
  • Ability to travel as required to meet the execution needs of projects, up to 25%
