Works in collaboration with the rest of the Engineering and Manufacturing teams to design or assists in the design and development to modify OEM equipment for the secure computing marketplace in order to meet essential EMI requirements.
Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying system requirements, conducting trade studies, performing engineering analyses, designing components using solid mechanical engineering principles, managing the integration and test of prototypes, and supporting production.
Ensures that assigned products are designed and developed in a manner that meets or exceeds system requirements in a creative and efficient manner in order to maintain competitive edge in marketplace.
Utilizes concurrent engineering practices, such as, design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for cost (DFC) in order to improve the overall design quality and profitability working in a cross function team of engineers.
Designs quality mechanical components and assemblies, using 3D modeling techniques.
Generates thorough documentation packages (specifications, drawings, BOMs, etc.) to facilitate accurate and quality production builds.
Collaborates with Manufacturing by developing the appropriate processes, tools, fixtures, and equipment to improve production striving for superior quality products every time.
Conducts thorough/transparent root cause analyses to evaluate issues in order to implement corrective actions and resolutions in a timely manner.
Takes ownership of continued professional development striving for improvement in every aspect of their contribution to the organization.
