HDL Engineering Consultants, LLC (HDL) is multidisciplinary engineering firm providing airport, geotechnical, civil, transportation and arctic engineering, environmental and earth science, surveying, and construction management services in Alaska, with offices in Anchorage and Palmer.
This position works with our aviation group to support HDL's mission and vision by supporting airport sponsors' projects. This position requires knowledge of FAA requirements, strong project management skills, the ability to lead a design team, and maintaining client satisfaction. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized, and flexible to working with teams between the Anchorage and Palmer offices.
Required Job Qualification:
Licensed engineer in Alaska (or ability to become licensed within 6 months)
Minimum of 7 years related experience
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Willing and able to travel throughout Alaska
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of FAA project requirements
Essential Functions within the Role
Develop Construction Documents for airport projects including plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates per FAA requirements.
Develop Airport Layout Plans.
Develop Engineering Design Reports.
Develop Construction Safety and Phasing Plans.
Project management including leading the design team, tracking budgets, and client communication.
This position involves office and travel. When working in an office setting this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. This position may also be required to periodically occasionally climb, kneel or crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional, overnight, out of town travel is required.
