This is a seasonal position.
The period for employment for summer seasonal interns is
May 15, 2021, to September 15, 2021.
NOTE: The normal starting salary for this position is $15.00/hourly. A higher salary may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.
This position is used for training purposes for students completing degree programs. The Intern supports the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) work section, which is responsible for projects that improve water system reliability and resiliency and ensures safe and adequate water for drinking, irrigation and fire protection. The projects are related to wastewater collection systems, wastewater treatment plants and the management of those assets. Also, the CIP section offers capital planning services to citizens, consultants, developers, and City departments.
JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This position is located in the Engineering Division of the Utilities Department and is used for training purposes in the field of public administration and in the specific operation of City departments. The position is responsible for providing standard research and administrative and/or technical support to an assigned City department. Typical duties include: performing a wide variety of administrative, project-related, department-specific, and/or financial assignments to assist a City department or division. This position may also be utilized for students and interns working part-time on special projects while completing advanced degree programs.
NOTE: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application for part-time/seasonal employment and must pass a post-offer drug test and health screen as administered by the City of Oklahoma City.
